Accessibility in Email
We have come together with Paul Airy founder of Beyond the Envelope™, with our shared commitment to accessibility and passion to promote the importance of email accessibility. Shining a light on the things that can be done to make the email experience enjoyable for every single recipient. Our aim at ActionRocket is to get every brand creating emails with accessibility in mind. We have been actively focusing on this important topic for a while now, and trying to encourage the conversation amongst the email community and our wonderful clients. As a result, we were recently approached by Paul to put our heads together and work on something pretty exciting.
After finding a whole host of helpful content around web accessibility but minimal on email, we knew we needed to open up the conversation for the email community. With that in mind we decided the best way would be to conduct some usability testing. So we created a short survey to help us to identify valuable insights around email accessibility. Our aim is to replace what we think will improve the recipient experience with what will actually improve the recipient experience when it comes to implementing accessibility in email – making accessibility real.
Email for All will publish an annual survey, and the insights from this survey will consist of an in-depth look at what accessibility means to email users. The findings will be shared amongst the industry, and we plan to encourage more informed conversations about the accessibility topic. Allowing for better informed decisions between colleagues and clients, and making accessible emails the norm. We hope it will grow into a helpful and valued online resource for the email community.
